They have it all wrong

This article speaks about the resentment felt by Mexican citizens regarding the proposed wall on the border between the U.S. and Mexico. What most Mexicans fail to realize is that we do not object to Mexican citizens coming to the United States, but that, in this age of Terrorism, it must be done in a controlled and orderly manner. Immigration policy is of primary importance, lest we fall into the traps of other great civilizations with open border policies.

America has always been a melting pot and a land of opportunity for immigrants from many countries and many walks of life. This wall does not change that. Instead, it sends a message that you cannot violate our laws and expect to receive all the rights and privileges of those who came here legally, through the application process. Immigrants from Mexico can get here the same way my Great-Grandparents did – by applying to come here, legally.

You are absolutely correct. No one is saying that we are not or should not allow Mexicans to come to the USA- only that to do so, they must respect our laws by following our established immigration policy. Thousands and thousands of people from all over the world want to come to the USA for our opportunities. Just because you live next door does not give you the right to cut ahead of everyone else in line. How can we possibly legitimize the presence of foriegners in our midst who flagrantly violate and disregard our laws and security.
