Chafee knows how to bring home the pork

Leave it to the most liberal Republican Senator in the nation to waste money on such a useless piece of pork barrel spending. For those of you familiar with RI, a new Visitor’s Center just opened on I-295 North, between exits 9 and 10 (Rt. 146 in Lincoln and Rt. 122 in Cumberland). This Visitor’s Center will sport a Dunkin Donuts, a Baskin Robins, and a Blackstone Valley Tourism office. All this for the everyday low price of $7 million, 80% of which comes from yours and my federal tax dollars.

I hereby renew the Axis of Right’s endorsement of Steve Laffey.

BETWEEN EXITS 9 AND 10???? THERE’S NOTHING THERE! No visitors either. Sheesh

Come on Mike, we all know what a huge tourist attraction the Blackstone Valley River is! Why, it should be a national park!

Yes Mike, it is not only situated between exits 9 and 10, but it is also on the NORTH bound side. So in other words, the RHODE ISLAND “visitors center” is located approximately 3 miles before entering Massachusetts.

You know, that is a long stretch between 146 and 122–what, about four miles? In Rhode Island, they need a visitors center at that location Northbound within the state so that RI drivers won’t need to pack a lunch for their travels or fret over what to do between the exits. C’mon now. You know.

I think that they should put one between ALL the exits. Heck, put up visitor’s centers wherever. Spend all you want, RI– I was liberated from the People’s Republic! I think your judges need larger pensions, your Legislature needs more Democrats, the aged hippies need more pot at their disposal, and mayor’s office needs a few more pansies on the windowsill!

I shouldn’t talk though, NJ has many of its own issues.

At least RI isn’t the pink state.
