Happy Anniversary Mr. President

Happy Anniversay America! Five years ago today, the White House was fumigated, and George W. Bush was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States. As we all know, the election of 2000 was a close one and almost gave us President Al Gore. We should all take a few moments today to think about what type of President we could have had and thank God we have President Bush leading our nation during this crucial period in our history.

Think about the Clinton era when terrorist acts were considered crimes rather than acts of war. Think about the potential Gore Supreme Court nominees like Alan Dershowitz and Susan Estrich rather than John Roberts and Sam Alito. Think about the Clinton-Gore administration when traditional values were mocked, often under the desk in the Oval Office itself, rather than the man who is as Zell Miller put it “the same man on Saturday night that he is on Sunday morning.”

We as a nation have much to be thankful for on this Fifth Anniversary of President Bush’s inauguration. Happy Anniversary Mr. President!
