Happy Republicans

According to a new poll by the Pew Research Center, Republicans are generally happier in life than Democrats are, regardless of income level. This is not surprising, since Republicans typically believe that they are responsible for themselves, while Democrats rely on an inept government to fix all their problems.

I can see that. My liberal friends are always complaining about how the “corporations” are destroying America, and that Bush is a fascist, etc. They have NO sense of humor, which is too bad.

I also overheard one of my liberal friends go off on Walmart and the gas companies, referring to them as “evil” in a resigned, but serious, tone of voice.

I bring that up here because I believe that this speaks to some of their personal happiness problems: They think Enron is “evil,” I think al Qaeda is “evil.” The Enron execs were jerks who are going to jail, but evil??? There seems to be more issues here than just semantics, I think.

It looks like we finally found a liberal who admits that evil actually exists. I view it as a step forward.

Evil is probably a newly learned concept to the libs you encountered. It may take them a little while to correctly apply the term.

I’m happy and I’m a republican. I knew there was a correlation.
