It’s no secret that many Republicans are a little upset with President Bush these days. Tom Raum of the AP thinks he knows why: “The rising GOP angst stems from Bush’s deep slump in the polls and the growing unpopularity of the Iraq war.”

That must be it. Republicans are upset with the President for defending America and because of his poll numbers. Those slumping poll numbers couldn’t have anything to do Republicans being upset over uncontrolled spending and amnesty for illegal aliens. Sure, Raum devotes a line or two to immigration but the thesis of his story is essentially that the GOP is turning on the President because he isn’t liberal enough. What is Tom Raum on?
