The Tube Goes On Strike

Sorry Londoners, but Tube workers have walked off the job as part of their 72-hour strike. Having experienced the most recent NYC subway strike, I know how aggravated many of you are.  I truly feel for you.

I’m sure our London friends are familiar with this song about the frustrations of urban transportation, but most of my fellow Americans are not.  Enjoy.

That song in priceless! It looks like this situation is quite reminiscent of the “Sunny Jim” Callaghan days of the 1970s and Londoners could use some Thatcher skills to clean things up!

I’m in solidarity with the folks on this one. The video convinced me that the Tube workers are all wankers. That’s 30k of British pounds, not US dollars, meaning nearly 60 grand a year for that job. I bet they think they’re the only ones who have stressful jobs– wankers all.

“The folks?” lol.

I’m with you on this though. When the New York City subway “workers” went on strike, the average salary was around $55K. And some of those people actually sat in booths all day to tell people that their booths were closed. Four year olds indeed.
