Hell Hath No Fury

I used to listen to Boston’s 96.9 WTKK FM on my way to work every morning. Ever since the station decided to move Don Imus into that time slot instead of Michael Graham, I switched to music. Well this morning I flipped through the stations, landed on 96.9, and heard John Kerry handicapping this year’s Democrat primary. I have to say the interview was amusing on a number of levels.

First off, I laughed during the interview because Kerry displayed all the class you’d expect from a sore loser, harping on President Bush the way he did. But that’s par for the course. What was even more amusing was Kerry’s handicapping of this year’s Democrat primary. Kerry repeatedly heaped praise on his favorite nominees including Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, and She Who Must Not Be Named. He made no mention of his former running mate, John “Polly Prissy Pants” Edwards.

Imus noticed this too. After Kerry droned on and on about the other candidates, the host finally asked Kerry: “do you still hate Edwards?” Kerry was diplomatic, but made it clear that he favored Edwards’ opponents. Sounds like trouble in paradise.  So much for the good old days.

During this campaign, we have already learned that John Edwards is despised by his neighbors. Now we learn that the man who selected him as the man to serve one heartbeat away from the Presidency can’t stand him either. Why is that the people who are closer to Edwards than most seem to have the same opinion of him as we do? Then again, why would Kerry select someone so loathsome to be his running mate in the first place?

Thank God for President Bush.

On the Imus issue, here in the NY Metro Area, he is now on AM 770 WABC…a station that I listen to loyally due to our friends and brothers in arms Rush, Sean and Mark. Imus’s new show bumped Curtis Sliwa to the 5-6AM slot. This was very disappointing to me, as a fan and admirer of Sliwa, but that’s how the radio business goes. The one good thing about the bump is no more Kuby!

Switching to the iPod for the morning drive now.

Good call on Kuby. I forgot all about him.
