It snowed in Baghdad this morning.
SNOWED… IN… BAGHDAD…
Having once been stationed in Taji, just north of Baghdad, my brother can vouch for the complete ridiculousness of that statement. However it is true. They haven’t seen snow in Baghdad for at least sixty years and woke up to a pleasant surprise that quickly melted away!
Global warming nuts here in Jersey complain that we’re all going to die from SUVs and “Big [whatever]“ killing polar bears and swamping NYC due to the melting ice caps, especially in weeks like this one which have been rather warm for January (yet, they were very quiet during the super chilly December we just had, but I digress). It has to be difficult being a member of the global warming religion on days when they hear news like this, when each day’s weather forecast is either a confirmation or a rejection of one’s core beliefs.
