NYC Military Recruiting Station Attacked

A military recruiting station was bombed today in New York City’s famous Times Square at 3:43am EST.   The story is still developing, but we know that though the bomb was small it was deliberately set.  New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg was absolutely right when he said:

“The fact that this appears deliberately directed at the recruiting station insults every one of our brave men and women around the world…. Whoever the coward was that committed this disgraceful act on our city will be found and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. We will not tolerate such attacks. …. People are going about their business. They are not intimidated.”

Thanks for the clarity and leadership Mayor Mike!  Attacks or sabotage directed at our military by Americans at home is tantamount to treason in my book and I hope when they find the culprit that they throw the book at ‘em.  There had been protests at this station before, most recently the 2005 “Granny Peace Brigade” demonstrated against the Iraq war.
