If it's Huckabee, Crist or another fake conservative, this election will be a walk for Obama. Mind you a veep doesn't win an election, but for a troubled and flawed nominee such as McCain a good veep will give the conseratives SOMETHING, epecially if McCain chooses to stay the course.Update from NJ...for the 2008 Senatorial Race, Lautenberg won the Democrat primary and Zimmer the Republican. It sickens me that the GOP put him in there to run and back. Mind you, he's a two-time loser; once to Torricelli in 1996, one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen run (and we've seen some bad ones for NJ Republicans in recent years) and then again to Mr. Lib, Rush Holt when he tried to get his seat back in the 12th. And speaking of Congress, Dems could get at least 1 additional seat now seeing who the GOP has put up to replace Mike Ferguson...looks like Linda Stender "The Big Spender" will be the next Representative of the 7th, sadly. It didn't help to when you look at who ran, but it is unfortunaate that Roughnee's campaign didn't get more traction.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('8459','Chris','This does not bode well for the Republicans and it worries me to see who he picks as his veep. McCain's running for the Republican Party?Sure didn't sound like it.We're in trouble. Like Mike said, the stagecraft was awful and those smiles and slogans were weak at best. Add to that the content which seemed purely intended for media moderates. My problem with McCain has always been this: how can a party's maverick adequately lead that party? Also every moderate we've run since Watergate has lost, every unabashed conservative has won.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('8458','Ryan','I just saw an adequate speech from this year\'s Independent Party candidate...\n\nWhat\'s that you say?
