The Acorn Manifesto

Over at Sweetness and Light, they have found and posted Acorn’s “People’s Platform“.  Reading it is like reading one of the works of Karl Marx.  It goes well beyond modern European Socialism, and into full-blown Marxism.  We’ve already tied Barack Obama to ACORN– his consistent funneling of Money over the years, his handling of voter registration efforts run by Acorn, and his role as a trainer with ACORN.  So let’s take a look at the organization that was so much a part of Barack Obama’s community organizing days.

We stand for a People’s Platform, as old as our country, and as young as our dreams. We come before our nation, not to petition with hat in hand, but to rise as one people and demand.  We have waited and watched. We have hoped and helped. We have sweated and suffered. We have often believed. We have frequently followed.  But we have nothing to show for the work of our hand, the tax of our labor. Our patience has been abused; our experience misused. Our silence has been seen as support. Our struggle has been ignored.  Enough is enough. We will wait no longer for the crumbs at America’s door. We will not be meek, but mighty. We will not starve on past promises, but feast on future dreams.  We are an uncommon people. We are the majority, forged from all minorities. We are the masses of many, not the forces of few. We will continue our fight until the American way is just one way, until we have shared the wealth, until we have won our freedom.

The above sounds like a new, updated call to action based on an old idea:

Freeman and slave, patrician and plebian, lord and serf, guild-master and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another, carried on an uninterrupted, now hidden, now open fight, a fight that each time ended, either in a revolutionary reconstitution of society at large, or in the common ruin of the contending classes. In the earlier epochs of history, we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of society into various orders, a manifold gradation of social rank. In ancient Rome we have patricians, knights, plebians, slaves; in the Middle Ages, feudal lords, vassals, guild-masters, journeymen, apprentices, serfs; in almost all of these classes, again, subordinate gradations. The modern bourgeois society that has sprouted from the ruins of feudal society has not done away with class antagonisms. It has but established new classes, new conditions of oppression, new forms of struggle in place of the old ones.  – The Communist Manifesto

Instead of Marx’s Bourgeois, ACORN has replaced it with the “evil corporation”

Our freedom is the force of democracy, not the farce of federal fat and personal profit. In our freedom, only the people shall rule. Corporations shall have their role; producing jobs, providing products, paying taxes. No more, no less. They shall obey our wishes, respond to our needs, serve our communities. Our country shall be the citizens’ wealth and our wealth shall build our country.

Government shall have its role: public servant to our good, fast follower to our sure steps. No more, no less. Our government shall shout with the public voice and no longer to a private whisper. In our government, the common concerns shall be the collective cause.

ACORN wants to nationalize the energy industry:

Charge the federal government with financing the development of renewable energy sources. Break the grip of the big energy companies. Establish new public energy corporations, among them:

  • An energy development corporation to develop and market renewable sources of energy.
  • A public oil and gas corporation which has the right and preference to develop oil and gas reserves on federally owned land.

They want to force hospital boards and health insurance company boards to NOT have any doctors and hospital administrators, but rather have low and middle income people (the Proletariat).  They also want lowest common denominator healtcare, focusing on basic care rather than the technological innovation that makes health care in America the best in the world.

At hospitals:

  1. Prohibit hospitals from turning away any patient who needs medical care.
  2. Give low and moderate income members of the community a proportional share of seats on the governing boards of all hospitals.
  3. Force hospitals to concentrate on providing basic quality care instead of wasting huge sums on showcase buildings and technological gadgets.
  4. Enforce federal legislation that requires uniform minimum standards of operation for nursing homes.

ACORN wants a national health care system that is paid for publicly by “elected community-based committees” (From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs):

Create a national health care system, along the following lines:

  • All medical costs are covered, by a combination of insurance, health maintenance organizations, free public health service. and sliding scale payments based on income.
  • The system is progressively financed.
  • The system is controlled by democratically elected community-based committees

ACORN also wants subsidized home purchase, and wants to end foreclosures

End foreclosure:

  1. Initiate an immediate moratorium on all foreclosures, and establish community based committees to mediate between mortgages and mortgagers.
  2. Establish a federal mortgage forbearance program that would offer financial relief to any household unable to meet mortgage payments for reasons beyond their control.

Provide mandatory income for all Americans based on the current medium income in America.

Provide an adequate income to every American:  Guarantee a minimum annual family income at a figure equivalent to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics “medium living standard,” adjusted for inflation.

There is much more here.  Read it for yourself.  This is an organization that Obama is close to.  Its radicalism go beyond anything outside of mainstream America.  Yet the Mainstream Media has virtually ignored, made exuses for, and swept under the rug, Obama’s ties to this organization.

If the Dem’s win I guess we’ll all be referring to the US as the People’s Republic Of America. Guess we’ll have to put you in with the Axis of Evil…..

While I do agree with a couple of their ideals… No hostpital should be entitled to turn away anyone in need of EMERGENCY care and the US minimum wage needs to be raised to something that at least allows a two income family to survive. It amuses us to hear the screams of US business that they need such low minimum wages to compete with Asia… simple move up the manufacturing food chain… use technology to offset that wage costs as many othe countries have done.

I know both sweeping statements… don’t throw rocks at me…., however the rest of their ‘manifesto’ makes scary reading…. Sorry guys, China is going to be to the right of the USA if this all gets through.

Time to form an ‘international brigade’ to defend democracy :-) ???

While on Acorn, I did read the earlier post on voter fraud, however reading deeper and also reading of the YPM efforts around the country suggests a bit of dirty tricks on both sides of the fence. Obviously from down here, we don’t necessarily get enough info to know if one is worse than the other.

Hey Oz

After a few years of America becoming an Obama Nation, if the post-Howard government of Australia wants to form a “coalition of the willing” to send troops to uphold the democratic institutions in the United States, I’ll welcome our liberators with open arms!
