Word has it that Newt Gingrich is considering a run for the RNC Chair position. With our party out of power, having a party leader with real Conservative bona-fides, as well as someone who knows how to lead a minority party to a majority one, would be in the party’s best interests. I’ll wait to see who else throws their hat in before I endorse, but this is a great start.

This is a very good development. I had also been hearing about Michael Steele, but like you, I’m going to wait it out.
Steele would also be an excellent choice.
I love Newt Gingrich as a political philosopher. Newt is an great political guru who knows how to create conservative majorities and would be an excellent RNC chair if he directs the party on conservative beliefs and not political expediency. Yet, with Emperor Zero in office, we may need more people of color in high-profile positions, so I think Steele might be an apt choice.
An update on this… Fred wants the position of General Chairman of the RNC, seeking a return to the two-tiered leadership under Reagan. This is an EXCELLENT development…either Newt and Fred or Newt and Steele. I love Newt, but I’m going to side with Steele as Chairman.
