The First Transition Meeting

The Chosen One and President Bush met up today at the White House for a tour and a transition meeting at the Oval Office.  Apparently it was Obama’s first time in the Oval Office.  The details of the meeting were not made public (good), but the manner in which the Bushes are behaving has seemed to shocked some in the press who have never been able to figure Bush out.

President Bush is a decent human being.  He hasn’t always been right, but he’s still a nice guy.  Unlike the white-trash Clinton crowd who took the “W”s from some keyboards during that transition, I don’t expect that kind of juvenile behavior from the Bush folks.  They respect the office and will respect its new occupant, despite the demagoguery and mischaracterizations Obama helped to proliferate in the previous substance-free zone which the press sometimes called the “2008 Presidential Campaign.”

Bush has a tremendous respect for the Office of the Presidency, as well as to the Constitution and to this great country. He may not agree with Obama on a lot, but he is going to do his best to make this a smooth transition.

I may have a lot of disagreements with Bush, specifically on domestic policy, but he is a class act.

Never been a Bush fan (as you well know), but he is going about it the right way. Have to respect the man for that.

Bush is a definitely a class act. His respect for the Office, I believe, was a partial cause of his inability to “Go Public” (use the Presidency as a bully pulpit to advance his agenda) during his administration.
