Obama To Sell Out Israel

According to the UK Times Online, Barack Obama plans to back the 2002 Saudi Peace Initiative, which requires Israel to withdraw to their 1967 borders, and creates a divided Jerusalem.  From the Times article:

On a visit to the Middle East last July, the president-elect said privately it would be “crazy” for Israel to refuse a deal that could “give them peace with the Muslim world”, according to a senior Obama adviser.

Gateway Pundit reminds us that Obama won 77% of the Jewish Vote this year. Yet now, if this report is true, he plans to sell out the Israeli people and give in to Muslim extremists who have resorted to terrorism to make their political point. This diplomatic strategy fails to take into account the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in which concessions were offered by the Israelis, only to be met with violence from the Palestinians.

Caroline Glick writes in the Jerusalem Post how this acquiescence will only do further harm to Israel, as the Palestinians, Iran, Syria and other middle-eastern states are not interested in peace, but only interested in the destruction of Israel.  By ceding territory to Israel’s enemies, Obama would be enabling them to take a step closer to achieving that goal.  Doing so would be a grave mistake, not just for Israel, but for the national security interests of the United States as well.

Hi Sal,

Personally I believe that at times the Isreali’s have been guilty of overstepping the line and I do not support settlements on the West Bank.

IF there is a way to sign a peace treaty giving back the Palestinian lands with an IRONCLAD statement that ‘step over the line and we’ll kick you all into Jordan’ with international backing and an automatic right of the West to step in to support Isreal I’d likely support such an agreement.

Reality – Don’t know if we could ever trust the surrounding nations to honour such an agreement and keep Hamas under control.
