The picks announced so far for the Obama cabinet are disappointing the left. Code Pink and other anti-war activists are upset that his National Security Team is made up of so-called “hawks” (by leftist standards…) such as nominating SWMNBN for Secretary of State, and having current Sec. of Defense Robert Gates remain in the post for the time being. It is also reported that other nominees for security posts are of the same ilk.
The left is also upset over other potential cabinet picks, such as Erich Holder for Attorney General, Peter Orzag for the Office of Management and Budget, and Larry Summers for Secretary of the Treasury.
So while the initial signs are pointing to the Obama administration running a liberal yet somewhat pragmatic Clintonesque government (seeing as how all of the picks so far are former Clintonites), the nutroots are going berzerk. It will be interesting to watch. If Obama goes pragmatic, will Code Pink and the nutroots abandon him? If he goes hard left, how will the country react? It is not an enviable position in a center-right nation such as ours.

I see the cracks starting to form. Republicans should take every opportunity to compare and contrast the promises of change with the actions of Obama including Clinton retreads and lobbyists (i.e., Daschell).
