Scandal Has Democrats in Chaos

The Blagojevich (D-IL) case has liberals who had contact with him going nuts trying to cover their tracks regarding any potential association with the Illinois Governor.  The problem is, they are outright lying in order to do so, including the President-Elect.  Ace of Spades points out today that Obama stated the following:

“I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”

This, however, is an outright lie.  Not only did his campaign manager, David Axelrod, several weeks ago state that they had spoken, not only did a news report on November 5 speak of them meeting, but there is photographic evidence of a meeting last Tuesday at the National Governor’s Association.

Similarly, Gateway Pundit has found multiple examples of Democrat lying in the wake of Blago-gate (in the grand American tradition of naming every scandal that comes down the pike a something-gate).  First, Jesse Jackson, Jr., stated that he had not met with Blagojevich in the last four years.  Yet he was seen conversing with him as recently as last August at the Democrat National Convention, as shown here:

Indeed, the Democrats are running for cover all over the place, scrambling to figure out what to do about the news story which has tainted the start of The One’s reign.

The scandal has the potential to ripple through the Obama administration.  During one of the recorded Blagojevich conversations, an Obama advisor known as “Advisor A” stated that Obama would be open to the possibility of providing an ambassadorship or some other appointment in exchange for the seat

Later on November 10, 2008, Rod Blagojevich and Advisor A discussed the open Senate seat. Among other things, Rod Blagojevich raised the issue of whether the President-Elect could help get Rod Blagojevich’s wife on “paid corporate boards right now.” Advisor A responded that he “think(s) they could” and that a “President-Elect…can do almost anything he sets his mind to do.

Although this never went anywhere, it does imply that there is someone in The One’s camp who is culpable, if not leagally, than at least morally, for entertaining a bribe.

Who is Advisor A?    There is speculation that it is his chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel.  Emmanuel, a veteran of the Chicago Machine, has been keeping an uncharacteristically low profie since the Blagojevich story broke.

So this is the Hope and Change that we were promised.  Wonderful.

I have been thinking this after I read the pdf of from U.S. attorney. If this is Rahm Emanuel or an Obama acolyte then it is truly devastating. Fingerprints all over this scandal. It looks like Obama was up for horse trading. The media is not even close to reporting the whole story.

Another point that the media is trying to dispel that Obama was not involved was the infamous “they’re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. [Expletive] them”. This occurred on Nov 11. The media has spun this to mean the talking was over between Obama team and Blagojevich. However the criminal complaint furthers states,

114. Later on November 13, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke with Advisor A.
ROD BLAGOJEVICH asked Advisor A to call Individual A and have Individual A pitch the
idea of the 501(c)(4) to “[President-elect Advisor].” Advisor A said that, “while it’s not said
this is a play to put in play other things.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH responded, “correct.”
Advisor A asked if this is “because we think there’s still some life in [Senate Candidate 1]
potentially?” ROD BLAGOJEVICH said, “not so much her, but possibly her. But others.”

Two days after the infamous statements and contacts were made after the infamous statements.

It looks as though Blagojevich entertained the notion of dealing with Obama even if she felt like she wanted to pull her name out. From the criminal complaint it ends here with the Obama camp and Advisor A. However is this end of contact or is there more incriminating evidence that Patrick Fitzgerald doesnt want to release to make a case on Advisor A?

On November 14th, Valerie Jarrett [candidate 1] is publicly announced senior advisor.

This criminal complaint doesn’t necessarily indicate Blagojevich and Obama were not continuing on contacts. I dont think Fitzgerald has play his full hand.

Much is being made about the fact that Fitzgerald supposedly said that Obama was in the clear. However, that is not what he said. He stated that the current complaint “makes no allegation of wrongdoing by the President-Elect or his staff.” It doesn’t mean that Obama and/or his staff was cleared of any wrongdoing, or that Fitzgerald won’t bring future complaints, only that the specific complaint against Blagojevich did not make any allegations against Obama or his administration.
