Feeling a Lot Like 9/10 Out There

In Barry’s First Seven Days we’ve already lurched backwards, perhaps dangerously.

First, we fold over the issue of Gitmo in the face of evidence regarding the fate of some of the released detainees, making appear America less safe.

Then, Barry goes over to al Arabiya TV and gives his first post-Inaugural interview with them –  not the MSM, not an outreach to the much maligned ”right-wing” outlets, but the Muslim world.  OK.  He needs to show the world he’s no wimp and has a new message.  But what does he say?

“…all too often the United States starts by dictating.”

“My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy.  We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”

Ugh.  Obama’s projection of America: Land of the Wuss and Home of the Apologist.  Here’s a chunk of the interview.

If by “dictating” Obama means things like, you know, treat your women with some respect and dignity, supporting jihad helps no one, or don’t strap bombs on your kids and tell them it’s the will of Allah, then I’m cool with “dictating” because it sounds like someone needs to be the adult in the room out there.

Also, Obama goes into full Blame-America-First mode and apologizes for American mistakes.  I’m not saying we’re always perfect, but compared to our enemies, open and clandestine, in the Arab World we are the best damn country in the history of the world and I’d think my President might want to articulate that a little more convincingly in front of foreign audiences!

It’s feeling a little 9/10-like out there as a result of many of Obama’s actions in his first week.  Going into a situation like this from a position of weakness can only bring bad news to America in this case.  Bush wasn’t Captain Suave out there, but America’s real security interests were always the most important issue.  We should project leadership, not wallow in liberal guilt.  If such reversals can happen in just seven days, what’s in store for the next 1,454 days of Carter’s second term can’t be good either.

Jeanne Kirkpatrick described people like Obama to a T almost 25 years ago: “They always blame America first.”

I’m actually seeing many people compare Obama to Bush after this interview. A video I saw today: http://newsy.com/videos/obama_vows_to_improve_ties_with_muslim_world/
wonders if the Middle East draw similarities between the two Administrations.

The Obama administration is not only showing a 9/10 mentality, it is also an example of “America in Reverse.” The Gitto decision coupled with the “stimulus bill” leads to more of the same as we saw late last year. BTW, Barry, did they teach you the difference between a door and a window at Harvard?
