in Anything Else,Pop Culture

I found two Pop Culture/Anything Else stories of interest today:

#1.  The switch from Broadcast TV to Digital TV has been officially postponed until June 12 by Congress today on a 264-158 vote.  The Dems are playing to their non-cable constituencies, while Republicans believed that those who haven’t fixed their TVs by now probably won’t be ready by June either.  One point that I think has been overlooked is the cost to the TV stations in having to keep both formats in place for three more months, losing money, probably leading to pleas for a bailout at some point.

#2.  There has been an acute existential question which has popped up in conversations here and there amongst many men (and women) over the years:  How big is too big?  This might just be too big.   It may also be a serious health risk.  I will argue (for existential purposes, of course) that at some point, there is a break from being “hot” to being a freakshow.

#2: In the interest of not trying to cheapen AoR by coming up with a few infantile, sophomoric and somewhat raunchy jokes, I’ll just say that I agree.

we’ve had years to prep for the switch to digital tv. 4 months is not going to help those that have yet to buy the box…

As for that chick…she’s going to have MAJOR back problems. I’m amazed she can walk.

On story #2 — it is soooo funny that you bring that up Southern Girl! Every woman I know who’s heard about that story said exactly the same thing! lol!
