Beck Uses the “S”-Word

The Glenn Beck Show on Fox News at 5pm EST has only been on about three weeks, and I’m completely hooked.   Some have picked on Conservatives for using the dreaded ”S”-word (socialism) with such reckless abandon after we became an Obama Nation last November.  I understand the trepidation those of us who actually listened to Obama’s actual words during the campaign had once he was elected and took the Oath as sounding, well, awfully socialistic.

Well, here’s Beck officially joining the fray of those who unabashedly use the “S”-word in describing Obama’s policies:

I laughed out loud when I saw that last night!  It’s good fun and probably an accurate portrayal of things by 2012, but my only issue is that socialism is such a strong word that two possible outcomes may result:  either the Dems and Obama are successfully tagged with this label in a negative way, or that “socialism’s” overuse as a word may dull its implications.  I’m hoping for the former to be true — using it has not backfired yet, plus the Porkulus Bill has been suffering of late!

Back to the Glenn Beck Show itself:  he also has another video making the rounds about how recent Fed monetary policy and the impending Porkulus Bill creates an “Inconvenient Debt,” (echoing an issue posted here on AOR):

I like the Glenn Beck Show because he highlights interesting and relevant issues others miss, including how the Porkulus Bill and SCHIP are taking us down the road to European-style stagnant socialist murk.  Personally, I think Beck gets teary-eyed way too much, but his style is more conversational, the pattern he has with interviewing his guests and the way he lures you in to tomorrow’s show is also unique and very entertaining.

Beck and the others using the dreaded “S-word” deserve kudos for being honest. It might put liberal panties in a bunch, but it’s the truth, no matter how harsh it may be.

Beck is also one of the first cable pundits (when he was with that other network) to interview Sarah Palin and introduce her to the country. This is the interview that got my Sarah support started.
