Obama News Conference a Snore

I watched the Chosen One try to reassert his manhood in front of already mind-numbed media groupies on TV for 62 minutes last night.  How do I know it was 62 minutes?  He started scolding us at 8pm and I stopped squeezing the stress ball at 9:02pm — two minutes into the latest episode of 24!  That’s when my texts got vicious.  Good thing Fox showed the whole episode, so my concerns were ultimately allayed.

Back to the snore-fest:  like, how many questions were even asked?  He gives his campaign speech introductory remarks and spent most of the time listening to the sound of his own voice by filibustering enough time to limit the actual number of questions asked.  Very transparent and quite dull.

Beyond all the scary end-of-days rhetoric and blatant bastardization of New Deal and recent Japanese history, it was a very telling speech — he basically took an hour to tell us that after all the apocalyptic doom-saying and obnoxious spending, it still might fail after all!  But, we should support it anyway — political cover for its high potential for failure.  It hasn’t even passed yet and he’s already involved in a national “C.Y.A.” initiative!  Awesome.

Phrases like “so-called terrorists” and “save or create” (what the heck does that mean?) also boggled my mind.

Question, Professor Obama! Question! Oo Oo, pick me pick me!

Umm… If I’m still employed next year, did you just ”save” my job?  How will I, like, be able to tell?

Obama sounded like and came off as a typical erudite college professor — not the down-to-earth cool one students gravitate toward, but the young guy trying to sound as brilliant as he thinks he is while being a super tough grader so he can try to get you to take him seriously in class.  You know the type.  Our lovable little dork-in-chief.

A couple of observations about the presser:

1) Hearing him go on for 20 minutes on the first question, I’m thinking this guy has no idea what the heck he’s talking about and he’s marking time until it was over.
2) The media was almost nice to him. During a Bush presser, they’d be hogging the camera shots and shouting out their follow-ups, but they’re letting the Messiah get all the time while they drool over the answers.
3) I was very surprised that Major Garrett got a question. I was not surprised that the Huffinton Post got a question.

On 24, what an episode! That had to be one of the best…and of course they’d cliffhang it. And the Renee Walker character…what a great addition to the show (not just because she’s a good looking woman that can fire a gun) and I think her character can definitely go places.

I was real happy with 24 — it was classic, no BS Jack Bauer back again. And there was a lot in that episode that probably has the liberals going nuts.

24 has been great this year…The Jack Bauer character for president not Mr Sutherland.
