Shephard Smith Unloads on Congress

I’m not a huge Shephard Smith fan.  Yesterday, however, Smith went into a tirade against congress regarding the AIG Bonus situation that was right on and put the moral bankruptcy of the Democrat party on full display.  This issue was indeed put into place by a Democrat provision in the stimulus bill sponsored by Chris Dodd (D-CT) at the behest of the Obama Administration.  It was the consistent tinkering of Congress that put the nation in this financial situation to begin with, yet Congress is now expressing “moral outrage” over a situation they caused, looking to name names a la Joe McCarthy.  Disgusting.  Shephard Smith is right on this one.

The Republicans are pointing out that no one had the time to read the stimulus bill because Obama and the Democrats rushed this through.  This could be a political winner for the Republicans.  We don’t have to agree and sign onto the moral outrage of the Democrats in order to attack and criticize their hypocrisy and complicity in causing the situation to begin with.  House Minority Leader John Boehner made a persuasive case in a YouTube video released yesterday.

Will this situation have an impact on Democrat popularity and their ability to translate it into policy?  Only time will tell, but this may come back to bite them.
