Note to NRSC: Stay out of PA Primary

With Specter’s defection, one would think that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would now back Pat Toomey, or at least remain neutral until his nomination is secured.  Instead, however, it appears that the NRSC is attempting to convince former PA governor Tom Ridge to run for Senate, and plans to back him if he does.  NRSC, it is one thing to back an incumbent, but completely another thing to convice a liberal Republican to run against a Conservative Republican popular with the grass roots.  If the NRSC does this, they face a huge backlash from the grassroots of the Conservative movement, and will have a hard time fundraising for 2010.  My best advice to the NRSC is to stay out of the Pennsylvania Republican primary.

I haven’t given money to the NRSC since 2002 and won’t in 2010 either. They pull this kind of thing all the time and I will not encourage them! I give to individual candidates so that none of my money goes to helping RINOs in another part of the country.

It’s very sad that they don’t get it. Republicans are down in the dumps because they have strayed from their conservative values. The Party’s bright future lies with the DeMints, Sanfords and Palins of the party and NOT the Ridges, Specters or Sn0wes. Once the NRSC and the GOP as a whole gets this, they will have a chance to compete on a national level again.
