GM Fails: “Government Motors” Looms

Word on the street is that GM is going to finally declare bankruptcy, which they should have done months and billions of bailout dollars ago.  The Obama Nation will control 72.5% of the company, while stakeholders have been pressured into settling for 25%.  Of course, all of this has been done for two reasons: 1)  keeping the UAW happy as payback for the 2008 Election, and 2) to get all of us driving small, slow deathtraps that the Libs have wanted us to drive since the Yugo graciously failed to catch on in America.

I forget… what do you call it again when the government controls private companies to advance its political agenda as a means to promote specific behaviors from its constituents?

Ah ha!  Here’s that word: corporatism

Here are some other words about corporatism:

Strict government control over businesses is the essence of Fascism, or more precisely, Mussolini-style corporatism. As Mussolini said, “Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.” Corporatism boils down to this: government tells industry (and labor) what to do and they do it for the supposed good of the country.

Wilson tried this concept during the “war socialism” experiment during World War I.  FDR reincarnated the corporatist/fascist idea during peacetime most blatantly in 1933 with the NIRA until the Supreme Court nailed him on it in the Schecter case.  Obama is trying the same kind of thing now with nothing but a faint whimper from a mostly acquiescent nation.  I don’t want to own GM, nor will I buy the tiny government-directed deathtrap of a car which will be forced run on goodwill and pixie sticks that GM will be mandated to produce as a result of this government corporatist overreach.

I’m just sayin’ — this whole GM thing ain’t cool.

Everything said was actually very reasonable.
However, think on this, suppose you wrote a catchier title?
I am not saying your information is not good,
but suppose you added something to possibly grab folk’s attention? I
mean GM Fails: ?Government Motors? Looms | Axis of Right
is kinda vanilla. You might glance at Yahoo’s home page and see how they write post titles to get
people to click. You might try adding a video or a picture or two
to grab people interested about what you’ve got to say.
In my opinion, it would make your blog a little livelier.
