Blame Reagan? Not So Fast!

Nope, I’m not surprised.  New York Slimes lackey Paul Krugman blamed Ronald Reagan for the deregulation that led to the current economic crisis last week.  Obviously, that’s ridiculous and others have chimed in to refute that claim.

I hear that same kind of argument every three seconds from Kool-Aid drinking Democrats out here in Jersey — all of the state’s problems can be traced back to the evil, insidious Ice Queen, RINO Christine Todd Whitman!

She left office in early 2001 to head up the EPA.  Since then, NJ has had Jim McGreevey mucking things up, then Richard Cody acquiescing to the whims of the Democrat Legislature, then liberal Jon Corzine’s pro-union, anti-business largess – all Democrats, all having been in the Governor’s Mansion since January 2001.  Of course, NONE of them caused ANY of the problems in NJ currently faces – it was Whitman! it was Whitman!

Gimme a break!  That argument might work for squirrely college brats who don’t remember the last decade, but not for most folks.  At some point, one has to take responsibility for one’s own actions.  If you want to blame someone for the current economic crisis, blame FDR for giving us this government-centric paradigm which says all problems large and small must be viewed through how government would deal with it.  Reagan was a breath of fresh air after decades of government-centric failure, whose policies produced a 25-year boom with historically few and small disruptions.

Why not blame Bush 41, or Clinton, or just pile on Dubya like the Libs always do?  I mean, it’s been over 20 years since Reagan LEFT office!

Simple.  Reagan’s formula worked, so Krugman and others like him want to rewrite history and hard economic data for their own political agenda in service to Obama, the true anti-Reagan.   Thusly, if Reagan had a good formula, then Obama is naturally bad.  The Libs can’t have that.  So, blame Reagan as he fades into history.  Can’t blame them for trying, but the Libs should stick to piling on Dubya, before history can settle on Dubya’s legacy… or slowly history slowly dissects Obama’s actions.
