Sammy Sosa was on the Drug List

For what it’s worth, former home run guru Sammy Sosa’s name was on a list of 104 MLB players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs back in 2003.

Back in the day (as a passive fan of baseball) I was rooting for Mark McGwire over Sammy Sosa back when they were both chasing Roger Maris, then surpassing him in the same season.  Maris hit 61 home runs in 1961.  In 1998, McGwire hit 70, while Sosa hit 66 in the same season.  It was cool (a little suspicious), but a lot of fun and good for the sport.  We know McGwire “[didn't] want to talk about the past” in front of Congress (code for self-incriminating talk about steroids), and now this about Sosa?

I can’t say I’m shocked since one never knows these days about who-did-what-when over the last 15 years of baseball, but it is another disappointment.
