The Freedom Fighter’s Journal. Well, They Say it’s the Freedom Fighter’s Journal.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  If there’s any truth to that, then the blogger Ronbo at the Freedom Fighter’s Journal has one hell of a crush on Axis of Right (blush).  I say that because the Freedom Fighter’s Journal plagiarized Axis of Right a couple of days ago.  Perhaps the Freedom Fighter’s Journal should change its name to Bidenpundit.

Here’s the link to a Sal post from 2:49 p.m. last Saturday on the unraveling of Obama’s agenda.  Here’s the link to the Freedom Fighter’s Journal post from about an hour and a half later.  Think they look similar?  I think they look identical, except for the byline that is.

You see, Sal’s post contained a number of links.  In the first link, Sal referred to himself by linking to earlier Axis of Right post.  If you read the post from Ronbo’s point of view, you might get the impression he writes for AOR since he clearly refers to another of Sal’s posts in the first person. From our point of view that sounded pretty ridiculous. Some of Ryan’s bottom-feeding high school students are kinda lazy with their plagiarism too.

Seeing as The Freedom Fighter’s Journal does not get boatloads of traffic (admittedly, we don’t get Malkin-level traffic either but hey, at least we don’t pass off other bloggers’ posts as our own), I wouldn’t have noticed Ronbo’s plagiarism if he wasn’t so lazy in the way he plagiarized Axis of Right… almost liberal in his laziness — just sayin’.  Unfortunately for Ronbo, we are notified whenever our site is linked to.  After I saw the ping from the Freedom Fighter’s Journal and clicked through, I saw Ronbo passing off an Axis of Right Sal original as one of his own.

On behalf of Axis of Right, I’d like to thank the Freedom Fighter’s Journal and Ronbo for lifting our material.  We always knew our site was worth reading.  Now we know it’s good enough to copy.  Next time, just leave a link and don’t pass it off as your own.

*This post was written by me, but Ryan contributed.  I don’t want to pull a Ronbo and not give credit where credit is due.

OOPS! A thousand pardons! I didn’t give you credit for the article. However, I didn’t say that I was the author of the article. The key evidence is “posted.” This in no way implies that I am the author. In any event, as is well known in practice, anything posted on the Internet becomes community property.
