Ron Weasley Battles Swine Flu

Rupert Grint, the actor who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, recently contracted swine flu.  Well, at least he doesn’t have spattergroit.

Happily, Grint is doing much better and is now talking about his swine flu ordeal.  According to Grint, swine flu was scary “but it was just like any other flu really.”   With that simple statement, Grint did more to educate people about swine flu without trying to cause a panic than weeks of media coverage.  Ten points to Gryffindor!

There have been at least a dozen students at my school who’ve contracted swine flu and they all say the same thing — it’s just like a normal flu. They missed a week or so, then came back fine. However, if it were a normal flu, thousands of people would have died of it already, like the normal flu outbreaks we get every year.

I think the hysteria comes from speculation more than current reality. Flus like this one which appear in the Spring rather than the Winter have a greater possibility to mutate and return in the Fall as a much more deadly strain. That’s why happened with the Spanish Influenza back in the day, and they fear that’s what might happen with this one. Maybe, maybe not.

Is it worth all the stress? No. People who aren’t hygenic now, haven’t and probably aren’t going to change much of their behavior to prevent contracting this or any kind of flu. We could all sit curled-up and rocking in the corner crying about it until the flu goes away, or we can wash our hands before eating and drink from our own cups and live our lives. I’m glad Rupert Grint shared his story — it’s just the flu!

I was curious if you ever considered changing the layout of
your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got
to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
