Health Care Bill Outlaws Private Insurance

With the Health Care plan now having passed one committee in the Senate, more details are being uncovered as the language of the bill is being scrutinized.  It seems the line “you will be able to keep your health insurance” is quite true literally.  You will be able to keep your health insurance, but health insurance companies are prohibited from enrolling new members after the date of enactment.  That means that if you change jobs, decide to switch plans, or any other action, you will be forced onto the government’s public plan.

The practical effect of this will be that the insurance companies will be driven out of business, as they will no longer be able to recruit new customers and grow.  Over the course of a few years, the only plan left will be the public plan.  The Democrats would accomplish their goal of of a single-payer universal health care system by forcing private insurance out of business.

Fortunately, not all Democrats are on board with this plan.  Blue-Dog Democrats, under fire from their constituents for the passage of Cap-and-Tax, are expressing their concerns with the bill and are attempting to significantly modify it or even kill it before it gets out of committee.  So far, the Blue Dogs have been ineffectual in influencing legislation, but it appears that they may be feeling taken for granted and are under intense pressure  from their constituents to stand up against this bill.  One can only hope that this bill goes down in stinging defeat, severely draining Barack Obama’s political capital in the process.

Or they come to America for treatment and pay for it cash out of pocket. Canadians do the same….once we have Obamacare….there is nowhere to run, unless of course you consider Mexico….lol.

We are doomed.
