Favre Signs with the Vikings

For the record, I believe that Brett Favre will be studied by sports psychologists for years to come, and undoubtedly be used as an example to future athletes thinking about retirement regarding what they should not display in public.

Here he is again, back in the NFL.  Proving me wrong again while he’s at it.  Brand new team thinking the tide will turn by his mere presence.  Brett Favre signed a $10-12 million two-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings, division rivals of Favre’s old Green Bay Packers:  “Cheesehead treason” as some are calling it.

A friend posited that this deal has long been in the works, but the timing of all this was probably Favre’s way of avoiding training camp.  I think he has a point.  Short-cuts are one thing, but as well as Favre has done in the regular season lately, he really has interception problems in the clutch games down the stretch.  However, he’ll help the Vikings who don’t have a reliable and consistent QB, much like Favre did turn things around at the Jets last season.

I hope Favre steps it up this season and does well for his team.
