Perusing the web today, I found this video of Trends Research’s Gerald Celente on Hot Air, and thought it was worth posting here too.  This guy is great!  He pulls no punches and tells it like he sees it.  He had been forecasting doom and gloom for the housing market years ago based on trends and data, not on selling “Hopium” (love that term!).  Suddenly, Glenn Beck moved to FoxNews and had a few interviews with Celente during and after the Stimulus debate, bolstering his exposure and getting more people to listen.  Here’s the latest Mr. Doom clip on Fox:

It’s hard to argue that America is not sliding into a long-term funk:  even if the economy rebounds in the Fall, Social Security is still broken, Medicare and Medicaid will continue to bleed money, Obamacare may have been jammed through further upsetting the situation, the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China) will continue to lose faith in the dollar, the middle-class revolts taking place all over the nation will not fade away with an economic calamity awaiting us, etc.  I think people sense that, which is why Celente is getting more popular.
