What’s an Extra $2 Trillion Anyway?

Nine trillion dollars.  It looks like this:  $9,000,000,000,000.00The OMB reinforced these projected 10-year budget deficit numbers today.  What’s amazing is that earlier in his tenure, the Obama Administration touted the much healthier $7.1 trillion deficit.  That looks like this:  $7,100,000,000,000.00.  I’d feel like laughing, if this wasn’t so scary.

But what’s an extra two trillion dollars among friends?  Remember, we’re dealing with big government liberal-types… if they’re telling us these numbers, imagine what they’re not telling us!  All they say is that they are “concerned.”  Typical liberal cop-out.  Are we supposed to be satisfied with Obama’s “concern?”  They keep revising and revising and revising so many numbers in so many areas that no figures they produce seem to have authority.  I’ll pay attention to trends from now on:

7.1 to 9 is the wrong direction.  OK, that means this is a bad news story.

Of course, Obama’s sycophants tried blaming this all on inherited Bush failures, but that’s not how it works in politics — “what have you done for me lately” is political reality.  You can’t get away with “It could have been worse” forever when there’s no way to definitively prove that — maybe the stimulus and bailouts wouldn’t have produced this not-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been situation, maybe it did.  Who knows?  What have you done for me lately?  See how it works.

Republicans are right to pounce all over this while the public is tuned in to politics this August.  They need to keep up the mo- where necessary and stay out of the limelight if they don’t have to be there.
