Congress Flexes Muscles on Gitmo

A bi-partisan amendment passed in the House last week (opposed by the Democrat Party’s liberal wing) to prevent ANY federal funds to be used to close Club Gitmo at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and to prevent any federal dollars to be used to transport Gitmo prisoners to U.S. Soil.  It seems that on a bi-partisan basis, members of Congress do not want to have the moving of dangerous terrorists to U.S. soil on their record.  The measure passed 258-163, with 88 Democrats and all but 7 members of the GOP.

This presents another blow to the Obama administration, who is quickly becoming know as the president who has accomplished two things:  Jack and Squat.  This vote leaves Obama with a promise without a solution.  No other country wants these terrorists, they won’t be able to come to the United States, and releasing them back to their countries of origin is not at all palatable.  What is the bringer of hope-and-change to do?
