Obama Tells the World He Won’t Use Nukes

This is just maddening.  Most of Obama’s policies to this point have been damaging to our nation.  Both the Stimulus and ObamaCare, for instance, will have a long-term disastrous effect on our national debt and our economy.  His foreign policy has propped up our enemies and insulted our allies.  In his latest assault on our nation, he has declared to the world that we will not use nukes, even if we are attacked with weapons of mass destruction.  He does carve out a few exceptions, but in the end, he is telegraphing our defense plans to our enemies.  Go ahead, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, unleash a cholera epidemic on New York City.  We won’t nuke you.  Feel free, Kim Jong Il, release some sarin in Los Angeles.  We won’t nuke you.

The audacity of such a move is beyond the pale.  Obama was sworn in to defend and protect the people of the United States.  That is his number one job as commander-in-chief.  By telegraphing rules of when we will or will not use nuclear weapons, we are removing a major deterrent from those who would wish to harm us.  This decision by Obama is showing America to be the thoothless tiger that many of our enemies already think we are.  By putting forth this announcement, Obama is weakening our position in the world, emboldening our enemies, and making us less safe.

It has been the policy of the USA since we invented nukes to reserve the right to strike first. Why? It just makes sense! One has to keep our enemies on their toes and insecure about any rash decision they may make against us. It’s the uncertainty, the “what if” that gives such a policy its teeth. However, since we currently have a Commander-in-Chief who cannot even pronounce the term “corpsman” properly, why would any of us think he’d understand that concept?

But I agree, this is maddening — I never thought he’d actually commit to this bunk. We are in more danger today than we have been in a long long time because of our President.
