The Compliance Cost of the Tax Code

The income tax code is a huge drain on the American economy.  The amount of money spent on income taxes for wasteful programs, not to mention the economic cost of lost opportunity from money not being in the free market, is staggering.  Even the cost of actually preparing our tax returns and paying our taxes is unacceptably high, and the regulations of the tax code an undue burden on the American people.  This video, put together by an economics student at the College of William and Mary, illustrates that fact:

So, I was watching this chick talking about whatever, and suddenly a Center for Freedom and Prosperity video broke out. Apparently it’s about economics or something.
