Senate Election Polling Shows Mixed Results

Some good news and some bad news still a few months out before Election Day.

The good news:  in the Pennsylvania Senate race, Pat Toomey’s up 45-38% over Joe Sestak in the latest Rasmussen poll.  I’d say “Keep up the good work, PA” but Pennsylvania loves to disappoint Republicans.  We’ll see how this plays out.

The bad news:  in the Nevada Senate race to unseat Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Tea Party Republican Sharron Angle is suddenly down 7 points in the latest Mason-Dixon poll which has Reid leading 44-37%.  Angle was rocking Reid until about a month ago.  Could be an outlier poll, but M-D is usually very good.

Every time I see Sharron Angle she reminds me of 24‘s President Taylor mixed with an odd Susan Collins vibe.  Not good, but I also can’t believe that Nevada would send back such a miserable failure in Harry Reid.  Angle’s mission — take the 10% undecideds in the M-D poll.

Regardless, many Republicans are beginning to get cocky, thinking aloud that they can take back the Senate in the Fall.  Overconfidence never bodes well for Republicans with so many RINOs still infecting the ranks.  Plus, there’s no uniform national platform to persuade locals to vote for Republicans, rather than merely against the Dems.  But like I said, we’re still a few months out.

Suggested slogan: “Put a Panther panderer in Power! Vote Democrat!”
