Jerry Brown’s “Whore” Issue

Word came out that someone on California Democrat gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown’s staff referred to his Republican opponent Meg Whitman as a “whore” on a voicemail no one thought was still being recorded.  A weak obligatory apology was issued, but believe it or not, the next day NOW came out and endorsed him!  Well, they did get on their knees for Bill Clinton, so I expect nothing less from NOW — they’re pro-abortion Democrats, not feminists.

If there’s one thing that most Dems don’t yet fully grasp is that we live in the 21st Century.  I know they’re still stuck in their perceived glory days of the 1930s/1960s, but to paraphrase Ann Coutler on this technological reality:  the Dems don’t yet realize the damage YouTube does to their credibility.  Every modern politician must realize that just about everything is recorded, might be recorded, or probably was recorded.  Ask Gordon Brown about recordings.

This will probably send a small reverberation through the polls.  The Whitman campaign should probably keep a soft drumbeat going on this into next week, demanding Brown identify or fire the staffer involved (unless it was actually Brown himself!), and maybe use this as another example of how Brown’s campaign has been disrespectful, out of touch, and wrong for California.
