Keith Olbermann and the Final Countdown

I didn’t actually see the announcement, but let’s be honest, no one else did either.  Nevertheless, it happened.  Keith Olbermann is leaving MSNBC.  No more Countdown.

It’s tough to say why Olbermann is leaving.  Countdown was the struggling network’s highest rated program.  If the issue is ratings, then every other program should have been shelved before Countdown.  Maybe it was a personality conflict.  I’m sure we’ll know more shortly.

So is the fringe left handling the news?  I’m not linking to the website because it is the internet equivalent of a sewer, but I was there a few minutes ago.  Believe me when I tell you, tonight is the night you want to visit Democratic Underground.
