Mayor Bloomberg Worries About Arizona as NYC Risks Going Pre-Giuliani

Mike Bloomberg may not have the balls to confront the public sector unions that refuse to plow New York City after a snowstorm, but let’s cut the mayor some slack.  He’s planning something much more important.  Like sending undercover investigators to gun shows . . . in Arizona!

Maybe Bloomberg thinks he has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in New York.  After all, the City has come a long way since Giuliani transformed it from a crime-ridden cesspool into the greatest city in the world.  But keeping it that way requires, among other things, allocating enough of resources to the City’s law enforcement.

Admittedly, that can be difficult in today’s fiscal climate, but budget shortfalls are inevitable when a city wastes taxpayer dollars on projects the government should have absolutely nothing to do with.  I mean, would the world come to an end if there was no New York City Commission for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) Runaway and Homeless Youth?  I doubt it, but if New Yorkers want to elect a Mayor who will waste their money, they are perfectly free to do so.  Just don’t be surprised when the greatest city in the world starts slouching back to its pre-Giuliani glory.

Maybe Bloomberg should mind his own business and let Arizonans worry about Arizona.  As it turns out, there is still plenty of work to do in New York City.
