America Dodged a Bullet 30 Years Ago Today

Thirty years ago today, on March 30, 1981, President Reagan was shot in the chest by deranged paranoid schizophrenic John Hinckley, Jr.  After surviving two scares over the next few weeks (the bullet wound and a bad staph infection) Reagan bounced back to become the great president he was destined to be.

Though he didn’t, the nation and the world certainly dodged a bullet thirty years ago today.
