CDC: Do You Have a Zombie Apocalypse Contingency Plan?

In a bit of tongue-in-check from the CDC, a statement was posted on their blog connecting the all-important zombie apocalypse contingency plan with actual, more plausible emergency precautions that people should have for things like a hurricane, flood, or non-zombie-related pandemic.

You know preparedness for any contingency is very important — even a zombie apocalypse.  Complacency kills, my friends.  They say that there are two types of people in this world:  those who have a zombie apocalypse plan, and those who don’t.

They are absolutely correct.

Back on Earth, however, I wonder:  is this quirky messaging a waste of taxpayer’s time and money?

Yes.  If you don’t have some kind of plan for a major emergency in post-9/11 America, trying to make preparedness relevant by having a government agency invoke the zombie apocalypse isn’t going to change that.  Ask the people who live near the Mississippi River if they have a “zombie apocalypse plan” then be ready to quickly dodge their right fist.

Well, I actually live in Prairie County, AR (tornados, floods and massive traffic disruptions this month) and I think it’s brilliant.

Ideally this would be a straight piece of wood; however it’s possible to improvise with spades,
tree branches and rolled up newspapers. If someone happens
to use a slower connection, it will affect the
sound quality of VOIP communications. Toronto Locksmith
services can be obtained from the organizations that offer
the good and reliable services.
