Tim Scott — A House Republican with a Spine

Despite the Administration’s insistence that Section 4 of the 14th Amendment says they can forgo Congress on raising the debt limit, they obviously can’t.  All one needs to do is read the Amendment yourself, noticing that pesky Section 5, which clearly states:

The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

So as the House Republicans prepare to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again (this time on the debt talks), Representative Tim Scott sounded like the kind of Republican we thought we were electing last November when asked about Obama’s potential move on the debt limit:
