Former Obama Stooge Orszag Not Cool with All This Democracy

Recently, former White House Budget Director Peter Orszag revealed some of his thoughts regarding his government philosophy: [my bold]

“…The country’s political polarization was growing worse — harming Washington’s ability to do the basic, necessary work of governing….  [W]e need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions.  In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic.”

So, the concept of debate and cherishing the expressed will of the people just gets in the way of the federal government’s labyrinthine bureaucracy of unelected functionaries doing what’s best for us in the murk since they’re our intellectual and operational betters?  Yikes!  That doesn’t sound very American to me, nor does it sound very enticing.

I’m glad to see “former” next to Orszag’s White House credentials, but he was nonetheless there for way too long!  Makes you wonder who or what else is oozing beneath the surface of the Obama Nation.
