What to do About Bill Maher’s Million

Advertisers, feminists, lefty opportunists, MSM sycophants, and Rush-haters everywhere have been piling on the radio talk show host even after he apologized to Sandra Fluke for calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his show.  Since there’s no sating their appetite for conservative blood, Rush should just move on.  Let someone else do the MSM’s work for them.

For instance, I learned today that Ms. Fluke is a long-time feminist activist who doesn’t just want her birth control pills, abortifacients, and sterilization procedures covered by a (once) Catholic school, but also “gender reassignment.”  Let her defend that one!  Rush should have just called her a feminazi.

HOWEVER while we’re on the subject of men who say controversial things about women — what about Bill Maher?  Like Rush, Maher is a private citizen who has an outlet in the media for his sometimes controversial opinions.  Unlike Rush, he regularly uses obscene language and lewd implications on his show.  And unlike Rush, Bill Maher donated $1 million to a Super PAC aiding President Obama’s reelection campaign, whereas Rush has not donated (to my knowledge) to any candidate in the 2012 race as of yet.

So it is fair to ask President Obama to demand his Super PAC return Maher’s cool million since Maher is renowned for saying absolutely terrible things about certain women on his show, namely Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, and recently Karen Santorum (see the above link for the details)?

Yes.  Will he?  No.  But if the pressure gets too heavy, the MSM will likely drop the Rush story for another social issue head-fake.  Unfortunately, the Right will fall into that new trap just as easily as they botched this contraception issue.  There’s not a sword anywhere that a Republican will not gladly jump on at a moment’s notice.
