Glenn Beck’s Piss Obama Pisses Off Liberal Hypocrites

Glenn Beck isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I like him more often than not.  Like him or not, he certainly knows how to make a point in a provocative way.  He did just that on Tuesday when he responded to the latest artist to depict President Obama as Jesus Christ by submerging an Obama bobblehead doll into a jar of urine (it was actually beer, not urine).

For those who don’t get the reference, many liberals who support public funding of “art” have argued that the First Amendment protects their right to create offensive displays (that is correct) and requires the public to fund those displays with their tax dollars.  Nowhere was this demand for public funding louder than in the controversy surrounding Andres Serrano’s “Piss Christ,” probably the most well-known example of publicly funded offensive art.

Religious conservatives and well, all people with a shred of decency rightly object to “Piss Christ” every time it is displayed.  Most of those people don’t dispute the fact that Serrano has a constitutional right to create the piece, they just object to the offensive nature of the project and the notion that taxpayers are somehow constitutionally obligated to fund it. Of course, liberals then tell everyone to chill out, not because the work isn’t offensive (wink, wink), but because it’s just a guy freely expressing himself.

Well you know what liberals think of free expression: it’s free until they disagree with it.  Jesus Christ in a jar of piss? A-OK.  Barack Obama in a jar of piss?  Well, some things are just sacred.  Imagine their reaction if Beck demanded that they pay for it.
