The Government Shuts Down

I looked up — the sky was still there.  I looked down — a giant hole did not swallow me up.  Life is good.

Last night the federal government shutdown — let the political circus begin!  Since the MSM is primarily DC/government centric, they are in a predictable frenzy.  However, if your job is a “non-essential” federal job, then this shutdown is actually significant.  If you’re a World War II vet, you break down silly barriers — that’s a generation who knew how to get things done!  For the rest of us, life goes on.

The Obamacare exchanges also opened today to mass “glitches” and confusion.  Brave new world, baby!

So, it’s not a great day for the federal government — embarrassing DC gridlock coupled with our first tangible step to permanently damaging our health care system.
