Here Comes Sandy!

October 28, 2012

Hurricane Sandy is forecast to nail the Jersey Shore sometime tomorrow night.  As you can imagine, the supermarket shelves are bare, many stores are closed, and a general sense of excited panic has gripped the Garden State.  Governor Christie is on TV every few hours telling us to use common sense and not to be [...]

Beck’s Take on the Benghazi Attack

September 22, 2012

It’s been fascinating to watch the Obama Administration hang itself on all the inconsistencies relating to the 9/11 terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi.  Some believe that all the confusion paints a picture of an administration in disarray, which may give some indeterminate political advantage to Romney in this election game of inches. Yet, [...]

Unemployment Ticks Up to 8.3%

August 3, 2012

The Labor Department’s July jobs report saw unemployment tick up to 8.3% last month. Even worse, the more complete U6 unemployment statistic rose to 15%!  There were a few new hires, but also plenty of people dropping out of the work force altogether.  Manufacturing shrank, but so did black and Hispanic unemployment.  But, it’s evident [...]

Tax Day 2012

April 17, 2012

Ben Franklin once said, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”  I hope the former isn’t in your future any time soon, but you’d better get your procrastinating a** to the post office — it’s tax day and the clock’s ticking! I completed and mailed my taxes the [...]

Voting Like It’s 1773!

November 1, 2010

Tomorrow is Election Day and I’m an enthused voter!  It’s the only poll that really counts, and one that you can truly affect! Here’s a prediction:  if the Republicans pick up less than 50 seats, I’ll be disappointed — a message needs to be sent.  I also think that the Senate will end up 53-47 [...]

Goodbye 2008!

December 31, 2008

I’m kind of glad to see this year go.  While fun was had, disappointments and external events put a particular funk on this year as I look back on it. The biggest story of the year happened on my birthday when America chose to embrace our new status as an Obama Nation.  We deserve what [...]

Obama is the Next President

November 4, 2008

The networks are now calling it for Obama.  There will be plenty of time for analysis in the coming days.  For now, we need to prepare for the onslaught of socialism in America.  I can’t believe that most Americans realize what they are getting into with Obama as President, and large Democrat majorities in the [...]

What If All the Polls, Pundits, and Predictions Are Wrong?

November 4, 2008

Keeping the Polls / Pundits / Predictions all in Perspective.  Interesting reading, if anecdotal.  Some hope on this election day. I am not running for President. You, the gentle reader, are not running for President. The only two people who are running for President, Obama and McCain, are going to states and sending advertising money [...]

Black Panthers Intimidating Voters

November 4, 2008

Fox news is reporting that two men dressed in the Black Panthers uniform are/were standing outside a polling place, one brandishing a night stick.  Police sent away the one with the nightstick, but the other one was an official poll monitor, so they could do nothing.

Get Out and Vote!

November 4, 2008

Today is election day, andarack  it is important to everyone to get out and vote.  Today’s vote is the only poll that matters, so don’t let any polls, predictions, or pundits get you down.  Just to boost confidence a bit, the polls have been wrong before, and can be wrong again.  In 1980 (hat tip [...]

The Ground Game is On!

November 2, 2008

One of the big reasons Bush won in both 2000 and 2008 was a successful Get-out-the-vote ground game.  Jim Geraghty at National Review Online’s campaign spot posted some notes from his mentor, known as “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, who has some insights into how the ground game is going in the battleground states.  The notes should help [...]
