Bergdahl Prisoner Exchange Debacle

June 4, 2014

Just in time to take the V.A. scandal out of the headlines while head-faking the nation so a deal can be reached with the Hamas-led terrorist Palestinian government, President Obama neatly handed over five Taliban members who were resting comfortably at Gitmo for one American POW… without notifying Congress, which is illegal since these guys [...]

Obama’s Divisive and Partisan Bin Laden Ad

April 29, 2012

This ad was coming.  I thought it would have emerged later, but then again Obama’s got nothing else to truly run on:  Obama ordered the operation which took out Osama Bin Laden, but would Romney have done so?  Here’s the ad: I have many issues with this ad: Choosing Bill Clinton narrate a Bin Laden-related [...]

Arizona Gets Serious About the Border

April 24, 2010

Yesterday, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a piece of legislation which would give police more powers to fight illegal immigration in the embattled border state. Of course, there’s some controversy:  the law actually takes the uber-Draconian step of actually making it illegal to be in this country (ready for it) illegally!  Sweet Jesus, what have [...]

Irony in Moving Gitmo Prisoners to Illinois

January 7, 2010

It is always fun when something ironic happens to prove how stupid liberal policies are.  Take for example the snowstorms and record cold temperatures that seem to follow the Global Warming nuts around, culminating in a freak-blizzard in Copenhagen during the world climate summit.  Well, the a similar irony (this one far more dangerous) occured [...]

Steven Crowder’s Club Gitmo Vacation

November 17, 2009

Mainstream media outlets have exorbitant budgets and entire departments dedicated to research.  Yet somehow, a young conservative comedian manages to produce a twelve minute video that provides more actual information and context on the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay than the state-run media has produced in years of “reporting” on the facility.  Thankfully, Crowder is [...]

Bringing Terrorists To Our Shores

August 3, 2009

The Obama administration is floating a new trial balloon for the ultimate disposition of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (a.k.a. Club Gitmo) after the closing of the prison facility on January.  Apparently, the administration plans on setting up a prison/military court system complex in Kansas and Michigan, bringing the terrorist scum from Gitmo to [...]

Congress Balks at Closing Gitmo

June 19, 2009

In passing the war supplemental to fund the ongoing U.S. presence in Afghanistan and Iraq, Congress also placed serious restrictions that will make it extremely difficult to close Guantanamo Bay.  The new supplemental does not allocate any funds to the closing of Gitmo.  In addition, the bill contains the following new laws: No Guantanamo Bay [...]

Bush Defends Himself

June 18, 2009

Yesterday, Dubya showed up to speak with business folks in Erie, PA, and defended himself on EITs (enhanced interrogation techniques) and his general policy in the War on Terror… um, sorry, that’s Overseas Contingency Operations (gag!).  Despite the headlines Bush indicated that he wasn’t going to criticize Obama, although he did get in a few jabs on those [...]

What Did She Know and When Did She Remember It

May 10, 2009

An important story worth watching last week was that of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and when she knew about the Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EITs) used on Gitmo detainees.  At first, she knew nothing about the EITs being used until the general public did:  “We were not, I repeat, we were not told that waterboarding or [...]

Released CIA Memo Details Interrogation Techniques

April 17, 2009

Water-boarding, bugs, leashes, loud music, diapers, sleep deprivation:  all techniques used in the interrogation of really bad people at Club Gitmo.  All of them were used with the intent not to do permanent harm, but to leave that impression with the prisoner; hence, skirting any potential claims of torture from a legal stand-point — the [...]

Feeling a Lot Like 9/10 Out There

January 27, 2009

In Barry’s First Seven Days we’ve already lurched backwards, perhaps dangerously. First, we fold over the issue of Gitmo in the face of evidence regarding the fate of some of the released detainees, making appear America less safe.  Then, Barry goes over to al Arabiya TV and gives his first post-Inaugural interview with them –  not [...]

Released Gitmo Prisoner #372 Back in al Qaeda

January 24, 2009

Oops? Word has come out just days after President Obama’s Executive Order closing Gitmo’s prison facility “within a year” that a former Gitmo detainee who was let go in November 2007, a man by the name of Said Ali al Shihri is back in al Qaeda and operating out of Yemen.  What did anyone really [...]

Gitmo Conviction

August 6, 2008

Weeping as the verdict was read, Bin Laden’s old driver Salim Hamdan was found guilty of terrorism, not conspiracy, by a six-member military tribunal.  Since he was only convicted on the first count, he’ll probably just have his stay at Gitmo extended for the rest of his life.  US troops found him in a car in Afghanistan in [...]
